Offshore wind energy giant Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy published two announcements in the past week revealing that it has been contracted to supply a total of 750 megawatts (MW) worth of wind turbines to a total of six wind farms across Northern Europe and Turkey and an offshore wind project in Belgium.
Siemens Gamesa announced on November 30 that it was strengthening its onshore wind market presence with a series of new wind turbine supply contracts for projects in Sweden, Norway, Germany, and Turkey worth a total of 263 MW.
In Sweden, Siemens Gamesa signed a contract with a new client, Arise Windpower AB, for the supply of 20 turbines for a total capacity of 82 MW — 11 of which will be installed at the Bröcklingberget wind farm, located in the municipality of Bräcke, while the remaining 9 wind turbines will supply the Enviksberget wind project. Both Swedish projects are expected to be commissioned in autumn of 2019 and Siemens Gamesa will provide a 20-year operation and maintenance (O&M) service agreement.
